Dacia
K. Peterson Area Director Dacia has eight years of experience as a professional social advocate for children and adults. She earned her Bachelor
Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2002, continuing her education there, graduating with a Masters Degree
in 2005. As an undergraduate, she worked as a counselor at the Scott Greening Center for Youth Dependency in Kansas City,
Missouri. Concurrent with her graduate studies, Dacia worked as counselor and group session facilitator
with children enrolled in the Crittenton Behavioral Health Center in Kansas City as well as the Shelter, Inc. in Lawrence,
Kansas.Following her graduate studies, she served as the Therapeutic Case Manager for KVC Behavioral
Healthcare in Kansas City where she worked with children and their families engaged in the state foster system. Dacia arranged
critical care services, facilitated training, arranged final adoption arrangements, testified in court hearings, and provided
key administrative support to families, and provided individual and family therapy. Dacia serves the community as a volunteer for The March of Dimes and the Make a Wish Foundation. Father
Paul and Brother Terry selected Dacia Peterson to be the Downey Side Adoption Services Area Director for Kansas and Missouri
in December 2010.
